Security Challenges of India

If you give up now, what were you even fighting for? Remember the beginning is always the hardest. Never give up!
Hi friends, today we are going to discuss security issues of India, it is one the complicated issues. India has so many challenges, that we have to overcome are poverty, environment, population growth, socio-economic issues, etc. Over the last few decades, our government has launched number of schemes aiming towards these issues. However, these issues were regarded as developmental issues but not security issues.
Now a days we heard frequently about information threat and fake news spread over in electronic media through social network, the main challenges of these issues are privacy and confidentiality. Friends today we discuss the security challenges in our country, prepare well, thank you.

Topic: Fake news: the Biggest threat to our social media?
India's scientist lands aircraft on sun, life possible on sun now.
If we read the above sentence, we have two choices. Either use our brain and do not believe what is written above or close our eyes and believe it and share it. Unfortunately, a lot of us fall in second category where we share the news not thinking about the grave danger in sharing without caring.
Million of years ago, in our evolutionary history, ape, who is considered to be our ancestor developed tools. The tools were used to live on the trees and help him to collect food using sharp woods from the ground and at times from the trunk. Later on, when apes evolved into humans, they made tool to hunt animals so that they can eat. The use of tools has made us today what we are - the strongest creature on earth who dominated everyone to reach a stage where we are the most superior. And there is no one to fight against. So, who do we fight with ?
How about fighting with the fellow humans ? As humans evolved, so did the tools. It's most recent tool is Social Media. The social media tool reduced the distances and helped people in great capacity like - communications, health, banking services, payment services, marketing campaigns. However, like hand which can be used for good and bad things, social media is used to spread fake news - which results in major effects for people and society.
Politicians across the world are known for using for spreading false news which can help their party to win elections. However, these fake news are used in subtle form so that people don't doubt the news. This is one of the six Kautilya's policy where he talks about 'Maya' which means illusion. The news is used to create an illusion in the minds of masses where he has no option but to believe the leader. As he gets into the illusion, he votes for the person to bring the illusionists into power. Ultimately, we choose a leader who probably did not use the right means to achieve the end.
The fake news is also used to divide the people. India - which is a country of so many different people - it becomes easy for the people to use fake news and create rifts between the people in the name of religion and caste. There are lot of beneficiaries of these fake news - which includes politicians, industrialists and few others. The fight is never good and it takes life of a person who may or may not be directly linked to the whole situation. It destroys families and the people from that family live a life of fear and regret.
Fake news is in itself a big parallel economy. People are hired to spread fake news which can help the vested interests. At the same time, people get employment to create fake news and spread it to achieve the ends through wrong means. Though, some sections of the society get profit by spreading the lies, there are people who doesn't have any fault, they die or they have to pay heavy penalty in other forms. It disregards citizen of the country, shakes the society and harms the country at large with creation of black money.
The fake news has also helped the two countries to lock horns at times. These things are so dangerous that it has the potential to develop a war like situation between two countries. Recently, when Paris treaty was signed, it was hailed as one of the most significant pacts which can help to save the humanity and environment. However, American president Donald Trump walked out the climate deal saying that climate change is unreal. In support of trump, a lot of news agencies and experts and writing in support of Trump so that people can believe of what someone as big as US President speaks. So, fake news has also wings to destroy environment as the air pollution just not stays in US but whole world has to share the burden.
Recently, mob lynched people across the country due to fake news on WhatsApp. These news are well designed to hit the specified target and hence, it has become a very very harmful tool.
So, what do we do ?
Now that we have realized that it is a problem - we need to look for solutions. Let's see what we can do to control the menace if not stop it ? Firstly, it has been seen that WhatsApp is using indicator 'forwarded' so that ring bells that it can be a potential fake news. Secondly, there is a possibility to make two versions of social media accounts which are premium and those which are normal. Normal accounts can have limited forward option. While premium accounts can have unlimited option. However, like the indicator 'forward', for premium accounts, we can have another tag like 'sponsored'. This way, people would understand that there is a reason why this message is forwarded. Third thing which can be done is use of fact finding website where a news can be rechecked about the authenticity. There are third party websites which do these types of work. So, if people have doubt, they can mark it as flagged and all flagged messages can go to such websites for fact finding. If that news found to wrong, it can be erased from everyone's mobile and a message goes from WhatsApp about the fake news to the person. Fourthly, use of 'original tag' can be used. With Original tag, the point of creation is known. It will help to find the point of origin and mind the master mind behind the crime.
Nelson Mandela who turned hundred recently, said that the most powerful weapon to change the world is Education. However, if that tool, like other tools not used properly, it can destroy social fabric of India and the world. Fake news is the poison which is spread through newest innovative tool, the social media and we need to fight it out.
